Microsoft has announced that Office 2010 will be available for consumer purchase in June 2010, with a special offer for customers who buy the outgoing Office 2007 suite today.
Office 2010 will be the newest version of the company’s popular office productivity suite. The flagship version of Office 2010 — Microsoft Office Professional 2010 — will include the following:
- Microsoft Word 2010
- Microsoft Excel 2010
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2010
- Microsoft OneNote 2010
- Microsoft Outlook 2010
- Microsoft Access 2010
- Microsoft Publisher 2010
Business customers will get Office 2010 a bit sooner: the 2010 set of products, including Office 2010, SharePoint 2010, Visio 2010, and Project 2010 will be available on May 12, 2010.
Buy Office 2007 Now, Upgrade to Office 2010 for Free

Microsoft has announced that customers, who purchase, install and activate Microsoft Office 2007, the current version of Office, now will be able to upgrade to the new 2010 version at no cost. Qualifying customers will be able to upgrade by digital download at no cost. Customers who require discs can order them for a fee.
Some restrictions apply. For example, students who purchase through the Student Select Program (available only for students at participating educational institutions) may not qualify for a free upgrade.
Also, the following programs are not eligible for a 2010 upgrade, even if they are included in a customer’s Office 2007 suite: Groove 2007, InfoPath 2007, SharePoint Designer 2007, Small Business Accounting, Accounting Professional or Accounting Express, Communicator 2007
